Claire had learned that silence was never empty. It held every sentence people were afraid to say.
Claire and Adrian rush to Bellweather before dawn. The warning orders Claire to surrender the restoration contract, while security footage shows a masked intruder using a Vale Capital access card.
Claire understood that the next choice would be remembered long after the explanation. Nothing between them was simple now. Attraction lived beside anger; tenderness stood beside evidence. Every kind act raised the same dangerous question: was this change, or merely fear wearing a better suit?
Adrian offers his investigators; Claire refuses control but accepts information, establishing the first boundary he actually respects.
"Help me without taking over."
